When I received my card I asked one of the professors if it was okay to share some information with the class on the refund cards. I started by asking them if they knew why the signs were up on campus about the address change. The majority of them knew. So I then went on to explain to them about the card telling them the advantages to having the card. Many people said that they already had a bank account and why should they have to pay for another one. I replied that the Higher One account is free, and instead of waiting so many days for your refund check to come to you, it will be deposited directly into that account or even their bank account. I then went on to show them the card and used a computer in the classroom to give them a general idea of how to activate their card by activating mine. I also offered to help them activate theirs upon receiving their cards, if they needed the help. Before I finished one student said that they like that idea especially if it will help them save money. Another student said that she is going to use the account to save money for a car, and that it will work out even better because this account is separate from her regular accounts. By then I had taken up more time than planned so the professor took over class. But not before I again offered my help and said if anyone needed my help or had anymore questions that I would get back to them after class.

When I received my card in the mail, I wasn't so sure I was going to like it. But after I activated it and put some money in my OneAccount, I took my friend Holly with me to the grocery store to test it out. After bringing a few items to the checkout, I swiped my card and signed the receipt and we were on our way. Holly couldn't believe how quick and easy it was. She said " you didn't have to waste time writing out a check, and you didn't have to worry if you had enough cash on you, or needed to get cash out of the machine to pay for this stuff. That's awesome!" Holly and I made a few more purchases before we went back to the dorm. When we got there I told Holly that we could probably see all the purchases we just made on my online statement. So we fired up my laptop and signed on to my account. Sure enough, right there on my screen, I had a list of all the purchases we just made along with my current balance and my starting balance too. Holly was hooked. Now she can't wait until she can use her own card and OneAccount next month.

I started using the card and OneAccount about a week ago. I told my friend Harry about it. I told him that it was easy to use. He said, "Thanks, I'll try it."
