What is the OneCard/Easy Refund Card? Top

The OneCard/Easy Refund Card is a Debit MasterCard® tied to a FDIC Insured checking account offered by Higher One. The card can be used to make purchases anywhere MasterCard is accepted and to withdraw cash fee free at Higher One ATMs.

What is the OneAccount Suite? Top
A.
Because everyone has different priorities when it comes to banking, the One Account Suite was designed to offer more choices for managing your finances—offering faster refunds and increased money management choices to fit every budget and busy lifestyle. Convenient mobile banking features and easy Online Bill Pay solutions all come standard with all OneAccount Suite accounts, simply choose the one that best fits your lifestyle.

One Account- A great introductory checking account with no monthly fees, mobile banking features and cash back rewards.

OneAccount Flex- (available to existing OneAccount holders) an alternative to the OneAccount developed based on customer feedback. OneAccount Flex provides more choice and comes with: No PIN Fees, One monthly foreign ATM fee reimbursement, a monthly fee reimbursement if customers make 30 or more Swipe & Sign purchases with their Higher One Debit MasterCard per month or makes non-refund deposits totaling $500 or more per month. Otherwise, a $5.95 monthly fee is applicable.

What is a refund? Top

A refund is any money that your college or university owes you. Common reasons you may receive a refund include: Financial Aid overages from student loans, dropped classes or tuition overpayment.

What are my refund options? Top
A.
Higher One offers choices in how you can receive any refund money owed to you by your school.The fastest refund option is an Easy Refundsm to the OneAccount Suite. With this option, your refund money is deposited the same day your school releases it to Higher One. Other refund choices include an ACH Transfer to other bank (refunds available 2-3 business days) or if offered by your school, a paper check sent to your address of file (refunds available in 5-7 business days)

How do I choose my refund preference? Top

Your card will be your key for entry into the Higher One system. Look for it to be delivered to your address on file in a green envelope. With it, simply choose how you want your refunds to be delivered. Upon receiving your card, go to the website listed on the back of your card and enter your card’s 16-digit number to begin the activation process and make your selection.

For many years, students have objected to long waits for receiving their refunds through the mail and have asked the college or university to provide faster, electronic options. Your school has partnered with Higher One to bring new proven technologies that will cut school costs, provide faster refund services, and offer you more choice.

How do I get my card? Top
A.
Your card will arrive by mail in a green school-branded envelope that contains the card along with instructions on how to activate it online. Each card is mailed to your address on file with the college or university. This is why it’s important to verify or update your address with the school.

Can I use the card off-campus? Top

Absolutely! You can use your card wherever Debit MasterCard is accepted.

What are mobile alerts? Top
A.
Mobile Alerts are a tool Higher One provides so you can stay on top of your financial game! You can get notifications sent directly to any cell phone with text messaging capabilities. This is a free service from Higher One (standard text message rates apply). You can sign up for Mobile Alerts by logging into your account and clicking on the “Profile” tab on the main menu at the top of the page. 

  • Refund Notifications – know the minute a refund is deposited into your OneAccount
  • Balance Change alerts – you’ll know if you balance changes by a certain amount you set
  • Low Balance alerts – keep yourself from spending more than you have
  • Txt 2 Balance – text the word “BAL” to 67298 or “O-PAY-U” to receive your OneAccount balance instantly to your cell phone
