Money on My Mind Honorable Mention – Marcus VerHage
Today’s Money on My Mind installment is also our next Honorable Mention video. Marcus VerHage from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse has a couple very valuable tips for us. The first is to not carry cash. We know carrying cash is not only unsafe (because it can’t be recovered if it’s every lost or stolen), but not having cash also helps you avoid impulse purchases. Marcus’ next tip is to use some type of personal financial management tool to track your spending and all of your accounts. Higher One offers Bud-jet for this exact thing. There are other personal financial tools out there as well – which ones do you use? People who post a comment on how this relates to their life could win a $20 gift card*!
Over 130 video submissions were received from students across the country telling us about the #1 money management challenge they face while trying to balance school and non-academic life. More winning videos will be posted each week, giving you more chances to comment and win.The grand prize winner will be announced on December 6, so be sure to visit One For Your Money often or sign up for our RSS feed to stay in the loop!
