NEW HAVEN, CT, November, 2006 - St. Louis Community College, Central Florida Community College and Bunker Hill Community College announced today that they have recently joined eight other community college institutions in implementing Higher One's OneDisburse® Refund Management disbursement service. Higher One, the leading provider of customized financial services dedicated exclusively to the higher education market, is providing institutions with the ability to achieve more refund choices for students, free up time for faculty during the refund process and reduce administrative costs. With the implementation of Higher One, these institutions are enhancing services for students, faculty and staff to provide an efficient and timely refund process that meets the needs of everyone. St. Louis, CFCC and Bunker Hill also represent three of more than 60 schools to sign on with Higher One. "We are proud to announce partnerships with three more community colleges," said Dean Hatton, President and CEO, Higher One. "There are more than 1,100 community colleges in the nation that have a rich history of providing educational opportunities to all Americans and share a common mission of open access and equity that Higher One is proud to be a part of. We continue to see an increasing need among schools to provide effective management of the refund disbursement process and improve the student payment experience and we look forward to continuing to offer these services to our partners." Higher One continues to experience increasing interest from community colleges nationwide as they look to improve their student services and decrease administrative costs. As more community colleges learn that a solution such as Higher One's OneDisburse® exists, they are quickly embracing it to better serve their students. These three new institutions have now joined many other community colleges such as, Miami Dade, Georgia Perimeter College, and McLennon Community College, to make over ten Higher One community college partnerships. St. Louis Community College Signs on to Use Higher One's OneDisburse® Refund Management St. Louis Community College, the largest community college system in Missouri and one of the largest in the United States, recently adopted the Higher One program to offer more refund choices to the more than 27,000 students on their four major campuses. The College will be using Higher One's OneDisburse® ID program. Prior to Higher One, students at St. Louis Community College received financial aid and other refunds through a non-debit, self managed ID program. Signing on with Higher One resolved challenges facing STLCC's refund disbursement process by providing a secure and timely process for students to receive these refunds electronically while also acting as an ID card that functions seamlessly with existing and future technical systems. Higher One's services have alleviated administrative costs of the past system and increased student services. Through Higher One, each student will have the option of an online account for their refunds, solving one of the schools biggest financial aid disbursement issues. "Higher One provides us an opportunity to expand our financial services and provide the benefits of electronic refunds to our students," said Carla Chance, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Business Services. "Our partnership with Higher One will allow STLCC to improve student services and overall customer service while streamlining costs that can now benefit other student-focused programs." Central Florida Community College Adopts Proven Refund Management Central Florida Community College (CFCC) has partnered with Higher One, a provider of customized services for the higher education market, to improve financial aid disbursements to students through the company's OneCard program. Financial aid and tuition refunds will be disbursed via the CFCC OneCard in a manner that the student selects: electronic transfer, ACH transfer or paper check. The MasterCard debit card will help CFCC reduce administrative costs, streamline the refund process and increase student choices. "CFCC is one of several community colleges that have elected to participate in this new concept," said Dr. James Harvey, CFCC's vice president for Administration and Finance. "We are confident that it will greatly enhance our services to students." Bunker Hill Community College Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC), located in Boston, MA today announced that they have partnered with Higher One, the leading provider of customized financial services dedicated exclusively to the higher education market to improve how financial aid refunds are disbursed to their students.
