HIGHER ONE CONTINUES TO GROW, ADDING TWO NEW HIRES IN ITS CLIENT OPERATIONS GROUP

Higher One Names Linda Mezzatesta as Campus Operations Specialist and Scott Verhagen as Client Relationship Manager

NEW HAVEN, CT, February, 2006 - Higher One, a leading provider of customized financial services dedicated exclusively to the higher education market, today named Linda Mezzatesta as Campus Operations Specialist and Scott Verhagen as Client Relationship Manager. Both candidates were hired in positions established by Higher One to provide further support for Higher One's growing list of college and university customers. These positions are part of Higher One's ongoing commitment to ensure client satisfaction as the company continues its rapid growth.

Joining Higher One as the new Campus Operations Specialist is Linda Mezzatesta. Linda's primary responsibility involves motivating, educating, and training Higher One clients on all aspects of the Higher One service. Her additional responsibilities include planning and coordination of client user training, analyzing and assessing training and development needs for clients, and evaluating client performance.

Scott Verhagen was named to the position of Client Relationship Manager, responsible for facilitating the satisfaction of Higher One client universities and colleges. His main responsibilities will also include serving as the primary relationship manager by providing personalized and professional services, building a broad base of support within the client organization, and assuring that quality and service continue to exceed expectations.

Recent trends indicate that colleges and universities across the country are adopting new card-based refund programs. As the leader in this emerging industry, Higher One continues to grow, adding additional employees to continuously support services for higher education institutions. The company's headcount grew more than 50 percent in 2005 and anticipates an 80 percent growth in 2006.

Thirty-five Colleges and Universities across the country have signed with Higher One to use the company's Refund Management. Since September 2002, Higher One has helped its clients disburse more than a billion dollars in financial aid and other payments to students.

Refund Management provides institutions with an easy way to increase the percentage of payments that are made to students electronically. The desire to have payments made electronically is a growing trend that was recently acknowledged in some guidance from the Department of Education. According to ED, "Institutions are increasingly changing the way they disburse funds to students by moving away from issuing checks to transferring funds electronically." Refund Management is the easiest way for an institution to help students receive their money electronically while still allowing for the option to receive a paper check if the student desires.
