“In the beginning, I was a little concerned because I had to implement it with Banner and I wasn’t really sure it would tie in with Banner and switch the way we had done our refunds to the way we would have to switch, but really the transition, working with JohnJay we came up with a pretty easy way. We simply replaced the file that Banner Created with the file that we were going to send to you.”

“When we talked to Michele and the other tech people who were supporting her at the time I knew it was pretty much a text file transfer and that we’d be going through a secure tunnel so I wasn’t too concerned sending my sensitive information. It was just a matter of doing a little bit of accounting on our end figuring out how to flag the students who don’t need to be sent versus the students who do need to be sent.”

“The support was there whenever we needed it as far as technical support and support from the Higher One end. Talking to other customers, we’ve found that the best way to get information is to go talk to other schools. We did have the timeline, we did meet the objectives, and we didn’t have any major bumps in the road.”

“The implementation was fairly straight forward. We encountered no problems really. Higher One had established guidelines that let us know where we were supposed to be. We had to modify our direct deposit system to track things in Banner independently from the Higher One system, but it was really good and we had no concerns.”

“I didn’t have any concerns about the compatibility with Banner because we’re just pulling data from the system. We set up a process that we run from Banner to do this but basically you gave us a format of a file that the file needs to be in and that’s all we really need to make it work with it. Talking to other clients helped a lot. That was my biggest help right there because they had done the same thing. They sent me some of their code and I based what I did on the code they sent me. The entire implementation went smoothly.”

“When you go into something new like this and you are dealing with students’ money there’s always a concern that everything has to be handled correctly. We wanted to make sure when everything was said and done that the students had easier access to their money and everything was easy for them because we are serviced based; out customers are our students. To tell you the truth, from the beginning when we started to get the documentation it really eased a lot of it for me because it was apparent that you had done this before and that it was well thought out and everything looked like it was going to work fine. This is probably the most structured implantation I’ve ever been through. It was really easy.”
