The Higher One Philosophy - There is a Way

When Higher One was founded, we agreed that as long as we still believed that there is a way to succeed, then the business still had a chance at success. No matter what happened, how dreary the outlook, we committed to our belief that there is a way to succeed, and we would keep working together to find innovative ways to get there.

"There is a way" is more than just a belief that everything is possible. It epitomizes what Higher One means to everyone who works at Higher One, works with Higher One, is a Higher One customer, or is a potential customer.

When serving customers, working with partners, or going about the everyday business that makes Higher One run, remember, "There is a way" means:

1. Focus - We strive for excellence in execution. This means that we channel a great amount of effort toward a small list of value-oriented objectives.
2. Integrity - We are honest and straightforward about our goals and objectives; and we have the courage to pursue them. We demonstrate honest and ethical behavior in all dealings with customers, clients, colleagues, suppliers, partners, investors and governments.
3. Creative Thinking - We are both thoughtful and creative in our approach to problem-solving.
   We are steadfast in our belief that "there is a way".
4. Teamwork - We believe that the achievements of any organization are the result of the combined effort of each individual. The combined effort of a team produces results greater than the sum of individual efforts.
5. Open Communication - We value all thoughtful opinions, suggestions, solutions and questions.
